Soumya and Anil

Soumya and Anil were married, epic Indian-style, at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minnesota. Anil came riding in on a horse and Soumya was the life of the party. The festivities spanned over two days, and was very fun to shoot – so many details and bright colors everywhere we turned!

This video is our way of repaying our friends Jared and Alice – over at eataduckimust.com/ - for the countless gourmet meals they have served us for free.  Here is their submission to the Project Food Blog Challenge #7

Check out the video (also a tribute to Wong Kar Wai) and vote for them starting November 15th:

And check out their site for the official posting!

This was a super fun (albeit HOT) wedding.

It was also a super fun (albeit COLD) trash the dress shoot.

Enjoy!

Winnie and David were one of the coolest couples we shot all year.  Not to mention their bridal party was determined to have fun.  You’ll definitely pick up on it through the video. :]

Winnie and David were married in Chicago’s Chinatown and ended the day with their reception at the Adler Planetarium.  A gorgeous, fun-filled wedding, sealed with fireworks over Navy Pier.

Enjoy!

The Bill Collector Theater Release

It has been a while since I’ve completed my work as co-editor on The Bill Collector.  I’m happy to say that the film will be getting a theater release in Virginia!  Read all about it here.  And if you’re a local, be sure to go check it out!

Lauren + Matt

Lauren (a.k.a. LJ), is my videography partner.  We met in Los Angeles as roommates, studied film together, and have been great friends ever since.  When she mentioned that she was finally getting married to an awesome guy (Matt), I knew I wanted to do something special for her big day.  We initially were going to do a much more complicated engagement video full of dialogue, complex editing, and inside jokes…but when she told me about “their song” (Kiss Me Thru the Phone by Soulja Boy)…I lost it.  How could we NOT build their engagement video around such a catchy/fun tune?  Not to mention, the lyrics fit the nature of their relationship perfectly.  Since Matt is a cop, and works the night shift, most of their relationship was done “thru the phone”.  :)

So, after much planning, scheduling/rescheduling, only two days of shooting (the days were about two months apart), and a lot of editing, we produced the final product:

Please let it load before playing.  Enjoy!

This was shot in Illinois at the absolutely gorgeous Allerton Park.  I’m hoping to shoot more weddings here at some point.  The scenery/landscape lends itself to endless creative possibilities as far as cinematography goes.  Hexin and Erik were a great couple to shoot as well.  Calm, collected, sweet…and simply put – ready to get married no matter what.  The day threatened rain, but thankfully the brooding storm clouds cleared for the lovely couple only minutes before the ceremony began.

Enjoy!

Kate and Mike were married on June 12th, 2010 in Indiana.  What a fun wedding!  Kate and Mike were able to maintain their joy and sense of humor despite the rain and a crazy rogue cop. o_O

Congratulations again to the newlyweds!  {remember to turn HD on for the highest quality preview}

Filmed in Los Angeles, CA.  Leather and Lace was the bride’s song choice, which perfectly coincided with the ceremony sermon.  Even though this is one of my slower pieces of work, I feel as though this video is very personal to Meri and Evan.  I hope they enjoy it!

I also love how they incorporated cherries (Evan’s last name) into almost every aspect of the wedding.  The reception was really fun and the sparklers added a dramatic dimension.
